Why using PEPPOL?
Nowadays, security in e-Invoicing is indispensable. Since 1.1.2017, all new suppliers must send electronic invoices to the government. Private B2B companies are also increasingly requesting e-invoices via the PEPPOL network. Here, security comes first!
The PEPPOL Network works like a communication network where information is exchanged. Through the PEPPOL Network, companies can send each other secure messages, the so-called UBL invoices.
Thanks to the PEPPOL ID, companies and authorities can be automatically identified. The PEPPOL ID is a single number, which is handled like a telephone number:
- Chamber of Commerce no.
- VAT no.

How does PEPPOL work?
PEPPOL SMP
A Service Metadata Publisher (SMP) is a stand-alone service required by all organisations participating in PEPPOL. An SMP is required to communicate the receiving capabilities (e.g. supported document types and business processes) of each organisation. Within an e-Invoicing group, an SMP acts as a kind of register or directory to communicate this information. Usually an SMP is provided in the context of an access point.
PEPPOL SML
In order to ensure the correct transmission of electronic documents between a sender and the desired recipient, it is mandatory that all relevant PEPPOL access points are connected. PEPPOL has a designated Service Metadata Locator (SML) for this purpose. The SML determines which Service Metadata Publisher (SMP) is used to gather the requirements of connected PEPPOL users. With SML as a basic PEPPOL service, both trusted access points and SMPs are identified.
How do I join the PEPPOL network?
In order for electronic invoices to be sent over the PEPPOL network, they must be connected to a PEPPOL access point.
An access point is a certified PEPPOL partner who is authorized to connect you to the PEPPOL network.
Once you are connected to the network, you can reach all PEPPOL users, no matter which access point they are connected to. Currently there are over 200 access points.
INPOSIA is also a certified PEPPOL Access Point.
If you want to be connected to the network, please contact us. You will then receive a PEPPOL-ID, which enables you to send electronic invoices.
